I am new to the area and love to bike with my kids. My son is 10 and my daughter is 7 (rides with me on a tag a long). I am looking for a fairly flat scenic or interesting ride with perhaps a park and a place to eat along the way.
Ideally I would like the ride to be about 10-12 miles round trip.
Does anyone have any suggestions??
Thanks in advance! |

Where do you live?
You might consider the bike path ... there's one that runs from Albany thru Schenectady. In Albany you can park down near Corning Park and ride up to the end of that segment near Troy and back. If you are in Latham or near you can pick up the bike path at several points along the Mohawk, including Colonie Town Park. From Schenectady you can get it at the Community College.
There's other places too if you let us know where you live approximately. |

Others know Saratoga better than I but ... perhaps the State Park there? |

We regularly ride the state park in Saratoga. It is a nice, pretty ride.
I am willing to travel within 20-30 minutes of Saratoga for a nice, family friendly ride.
Thanks!! |

There is another really nice bike path that starts in Glens Falls and heads north towards Lake George that you might enjoy. |

In Saratoga Springs there are several Bike paths:
There is one in Clifton Park start in RT-146A and goes South to Miller Rd.
There is a bike path from Ballton Spa to Round Lake.
Also there is a bike path (3-1/2 miles) along Ballton Lake starts at RT 146A cross Outlet Rd.
Also you can take your kids to Visher Ferris Preserve along the Mohawk River very flat.
Another Place The Saratoga BattleField Park (11 miles (almost one-way street)), you have to pay 2 dollar per bike, the ticket is good for week. the loop has a couple big uphill and down hill. |
